Tenants frequently ask, “Why can’t we paint the walls the color we want?” The list is a mile long as to why an owner or management company of a rental property would say “NO!” My favorite was the tenant who stated they were ‘painters’ and would choose something neutral and aesthetically pleasing. When the tenants moved out, the owner found a sold black bathroom (walls, ceiling, woodwork) full of “chunky” glitter requiring hours and hours of sanding. One of the walls actually had to have the drywall removed and redone in order to repair “neutral & aesthetically pleasing” glitter job!
