Wednesday War Story

September 28, 2016 by Kallie Peterson Leave a Comment

screen-shot-2016-09-23-at-11-40-51-amAfter about 9 months of no contact with a tenant other than on time rent payments an owner insisted on an inspection of the home.  The tenants admittedly refused, but he was allowed access because of the lease & notice was given. Upon entering the property, he quickly realized that the tenants were able to pay rent because they were selling off the property piece by piece.  All the appliances, big and small, the furnace, the water heater… were all gone.  They had sold the toilets and plumbing fixtures, the doors and cabinets were gone,  and they had started on selling off the moldings in the home. This is a GREAT reason to do regular required inspections!!!
