The owner of a small multi-plex (10 units) was in the middle of a very messy eviction proceeding.
The tenants of one of the units were out of work and pissed off that they were kicked off state/federal assistance. They refused to pay rent or move. Their days were spent continuously harassing the other tenants to the point of everyone else living there were threatening to move out. Luckily the night before the eviction hearing the tenants left on their own. The owner, happy that they no longer had to deal with their “abuse”. Rushed over to review the damage caused in the unit and figure out what needed to be done to get the unit re-rented.
Upon walking up to the building he was inundated by ALL of the other tenants who were upset, and rightfully so. EVERY toilet & drain in the building was backing up into the units, starting with the bottom floor units. When the plumber arrived he found that the trouble tenants (from the top floor) had poured quick setting cement into the drains and down the toilet. Backing up the entire building, and requiring tens of thousands of dollars of work to be done to repair the damage they had caused.
